The hotel is very well located, close to city center, surrounded by different shops and restaurants. Being a part of the Villa Residence allowed to use all the facilities of three hotels. We enjoyed very much pools and restaurants.

Our bathroom had a specific unpleasant smell.

Excellent staff nothing too much trouble . NYEve coaches laid on for trip to vantage point for the excellent fireworks. This was an excellent hotel stay and I will be returning.

The ground floor room was grea,t if you enjoy waking up to breakfast chaos. I definitely expected some complimentary perks for this inconvenience. And the reception staff, not friendly-they should take a hospitality course, maybe. The aircon is stuck at 24C, what an experience! Almost wrote a glowing review, but just couldn't.

Brilliant hotel, highly recommended. We were upgraded to a junior suite.

Only less positive comment is that you need to pay extra for the steam room and sauna, which doesn't seem quite fair for a 4 star.

staff were amazing. room was excellent and the grounds were perfect. So many amenities and close to all the local restaurants. Spa, pools, tennis, were exceptional.

perfectly placed for city strolls and park views

I loved the easy access to beautiful walking paths along the coast and the nearby Lido Bathing Complex, where I spent several afternoons soaking in the sun and enjoying views of the ocean and gardens. The hotel is surrounded by fantastic restaurants, including a few cozy spots just steps away, made my dining experiences really good.

Suites are really nice! Had 180 deg sea view. Small kitchen. Restaurants and shops nearby.

No direct access to sea. Public park and shopping centre between hotel and sea. Noise from shopping centre.

Perfect and comfortable location within a close distance from Barreiros Stadium. Quite close to the airport, 25 km, perfect for an early flight.

The relaxing atmosphere of the Eden Mar and its lush gardens provided a perfect escape, complemented by refreshing cocktails at the Portofino bar during happy hour.

A lovely hotel with beautiful gardens Very spacious rooms. All the staff were very weloming and cheerful. Great swimming pools.

I thought the junior suite was excellent. I also greatly enjoyed the well kept and interesting gardens. The pools and jacuzzi were also very good

Sunshine vibes in Funchal ☀️

Brekkie was a total winner, fresh fruits and every kinda egg you can imagine! The sunsets from our room were just out of this world, proper magical vibes, ja. Chill time at the pool and hot tub was great after exploring.

Might've been a bit far from the main attractions, but taxis were easy-peasy to grab.

Great facilities, efficiently run, helpful staff, peaceful, and wonderful gardens. Excellent buffet breakfast. The hotel benefits from being part of the large Vila Porto Mare complex. We intend to return.

Very little about the stay was negative. But there was poor security for baggage whilst waiting for a late flight, and the computer in the lobby used for online flight booking was old, slow and gave more hassle than benefit. This did not match the overwhelmingly great standard of the hotel.

The garden and pool area is fabulous, best we have ever seen. room was a good size with a nice balcony. bathroom was a little on the small side. breakfast was excellent and although we didnt eat an evevning meal, I understand they were very good.

I am always irritated when you have to pay for things such as table tennis and darts
